(Note: This is not a walkthrough for the 3D remake of Please, Don't Touch Anything!. Many of the numerical sequences you need to use are not the same between versions, and there are fewer endings in the 2D version.)

Please, Don't Touch Anything! is a pretty simple game on its face. You're presented with a mysterious control console, and there's a single, red button in the middle of it. Don't touch it! Simplicity swiftly becomes complicated if you ignore the name of the game, and there's no telling what will happen if you fiddle with the panel.

For the most part Please, Don't Touch Anything! is just about messing around and seeing what happens. That said, there are 'endings' you can achieve by performing specific tasks with the control panel. We'll explore all 25 endings in this walkthrough.

Each time you unlock an ending the game will halt. You can reset everything by pulling the Restart lever at the bottom of the control panel. The game keeps track of the endings you've unlocked via the line of yellow lights next to the Restart lever, as well as a series of decorative posters on the rear wall.

There are a total of 15 Achievements in Please, Don't Touch Anything!. Many of them are specific to the endings, and those are listed below. The more generalized Achievements are as follows:

  • Button Maniac - Press buttons 1,000 times
  • Just Logo? - Enter the menu (top-left corner), then click the 'O' in the 'Please, Don't Touch Anything!' logo (bottom-right corner)
  • Groundhog Day - Restart the control panel 100 times
  • Perfectionist - Unlock the 25th ending without pressing any unnecessary buttons (basically do every puzzle perfectly)
  • Once Again - Delete your save game via the menu after unlocking all of the endings (you need to hold the button down for a few seconds to trigger the deletion)
  • Uninstall Me - Unlock all of the other Achievements

Ending 1: Peaceful

Start the game up, then don't touch anything. After a few minutes you'll receive some dialogue. Done! If you wait an additional three minutes without touching anything you'll receive the Ergophobia Achievement.

Ending 2: Shutdown

Start the game, then push the red button twenty times. You'll receive the Disobedience Achievement just for pushing the button at this point.

If you hit the button 277 times you'll receive the Don't Be Distracted Achievement. If you hit the button 276 times in one minute you'll receive the Fastest in the Wild West Achievement.

Ending 15: City Boom

Whenever you Restart the game there's a chance you can play City Boom, a little minigame on the console screen. A biplane will soat over the cityscape, and every time you hit the red button on the command console the plane will drop a bomb. This will slowly chip away at the city. You can drop four bombs per run over the city.

The trick here is that the biplane will get closer and closer to the ground each time it makes a run over the city, and if you fail to reduce the size of the buildings the plane will eventually smash into them, ending the game. You need to gradually level the buildings and give the plane room to zip overhead. Not that difficult, but a bit frustrating if you have poor timing. (Note that you can just keep hitting the Restart lever and keep trying until you complete the game.)

Note the flashing letters - Y, R, B, B - on the completion screen, as you'll need them for ending 19. If you manage to complete City Boom without missing a single time - ie, always destroying a part of the buildings when you drop a bomb - you'll receive the Red Baron Achievement.

Ending 16: Console Baby
  • Press the red button 15 times to reveal a hammer
  • Drag the hammer to the main red button to smash it
  • Hit the button a few more times to make a gooey creature appear from the control console
  • Hit the growths that appear on the control console until they burst, then hit the gooey creature again
  • Repeat this process before time runs out and the game resets itself
This ending requires a fair amount of speed and precision. If you overshoot your targets even a bit your attacks will likely miss, and you only have enough time for one or two mistakes (if that). Don't be surprised if you have to repeat this sequence a few times before you succeed.

Ending 17: Planetary Bombardment
  • Press the red button eight times to reveal the code buttons and a screwdriver
  • Use the screwdriver on the instructions poster in the top-left corner of the screen to reveal several clocks
  • Wait until 12:00 am, at which point the slot near the clocks will spit out a ticket
  • Use the ticket to enter numbers via the code buttons - count up the number of darkened squares to determine the number, working your way up the ticket from the bottom (the code for the screenshot above, for example, is 2, 3, 3, 1, 3, 3)
This ending requires the use of your device's internal clock. Unless you just happen to be playing at 12 AM you'll want to change your clock settings to 11:59 PM, then turn the game on. Note that more modern computers default to setting their clocks automatically, a feature that you'll have to disable.

Ending 18: Happy 666
  • Press the red button twice to reveal the code buttons
  • Enter the code 1, 3, 2, 2, 3, 1 to reveal the Don't Do It! panel
  • Press the bottom right, bottom left, bottom left, and bottom right buttons in that order to reveal the counter panel
  • Hit the grey button on the counter panel until it ticks up to 666, then hit the red button on the counter panel to reveal the pictogram panel
  • Click all of the pictograms except for the eye, the hourglass, the key, and the waves (note that the heart next to the waves in the screenshot hasn't been pressed yet - but should)

Ending 19: Sandworm Oms
  • Press the red button eight times to reveal the code buttons and a screwdriver
  • Enter the code 1, 3, 2, 2, 3, 1 to reveal a lever and the Do Not Touch! panel
  • Press the bottom right, bottom left, bottom left, and bottom right buttons under the Do Not Touch! sign to reveal a D4 box in the top-right
  • Pull the lever to the left to reveal a ten-digit panel
  • Type the numbers 8, 3, 6, and 7 on the ten-digit panel to reveal a cluster of green buttons
  • Press the green buttons in this exact order, starting on the left:
    • Fourth in the first row
    • Fourth in the seventh (last) row
    • Second in the fourth row
    • Fourth in the fourth row
    • Sixth in the fourth row
  • This will reveal a diamond inside the D4 box
  • Drag the screwdriver to the screwed-down panel on the right side of the control board to open it up, revealing four colored buttons
  • Hit the yellow, red, blue, blue buttons (bottom right, top right, bottom left, bottom left) to reveal a cracked-looking window
  • Type 4, 0, 2, 0 in to the ten-digit panel to open the cracked-looking window, revealing a golden recess
  • Place the diamond in the recess, then press the brown button to the left of the recess

Ending 20: Stanley

This sequence will show up randomly when you Restart the game, similar to City Boom. Hit the red button and more red buttons will pop up on the console. Hit the new buttons and yet more will appear. You need to keep doing this until the console is completely covered in red buttons. More buttons won't spawn until you've hit the previous new buttons, though there is no penalty for hitting older buttons in the process. Take a systematic approach if you can't keep track of the newcomers and you will, eventually, succeed.

Ending 21: Police State

After you've completed enough endings (I'd completed ending 13) a passport will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Click it and a pair of stampers will appear on the right side of the command console. Click the red stamper (left) to get the ending.

Ending 22: Earthquake

Press the red button once and a small, grey arrow will appear next to the button. Click to the right of this arrow and you'll find another, hidden button. This begins a chain of buttons, all hidden throughout the command console, that you'll find by following the arrows on each subsequent button. There isn't always a straight line between the buttons so you'll have to hunt around a bit. (Or consult the screenshot above.) The last button you need to press is just above the line of yellow lights on the left side of the console, a little ways left of the numbers gouged into the metal.

Once you've completed this circuit you'll reveal a panel of green buttons. You need to light up all of the buttons, but whenever you press one the surrounding buttons will also change color, either to yellow or back to green. You can either mess with this until you get it - I recommend starting in one of the corners and fiddle your way inward, until you have a patch of four or five squares that you can get all at once - or just copy someone else's pattern. If you can complete this puzzle in six moves or less you'll receive the 3x5x6 Achievement.

Ending 23: Blast Off

Puzzling out the solution to the 23rd ending requires a little hand-held black light, which you can retrieve from the console by pulling the lever to the right. You don't have to use the black light for this puzzle, though if you pull it out and check the left edge of the screen, roughly adjacent to the red starting button, you'll reveal a little graphic - and earn the 555-2368 Achievement.
  • Press the red button eight times to reveal the code buttons and a screwdriver
  • Enter the code 1, 3, 2, 2, 3, 1 to reveal a lever
  • Pull the lever to the left to reveal a ten-digit panel
  • Type 2, 0, 0, 1 into the ten-digit panel to reveal three tumblers
  • Tap the tumblers until they display the following letters: 'PL', 'U', 'TO', then press the grey button beneath the center tumbler to reveal a key
  • Drag the screwdriver to the screwed-down panel on the right side of the control board to open it up, revealing four colored buttons
  • Hit the red button (top right) four times to reveal a key slot beneath the Don't Do It! panel
  • Drag the key into the key slot

Ending 24: Waterworld

Similar to the 23rd ending, you need the light from pulling the lever to find the solution for the 24th ending. We can skip this step once again, and save some time.
  • Press the red button twice to reveal the code buttons
  • Enter the code 1, 3, 2, 2, 3, 1 to reveal a lever
  • Pull the lever to the right to reveal a 'Bender' panel with two buttons
  • Enter 1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1 into the 'Bender' panel

Ending 25: The End

Restart the command console once you've gotten the other 24 endings to receive some dialogue, then press the red button. Congratulations! You've completed Please, Don't Touch Anything! This will earn you the Decorate the Room Achievement. This will also reveal a tiny red button in the bottom-left corner of the console, beneath the row of yellow lights, and if you press it you'll trigger the game's final ending again.
