ONE DAY LEFT, Part 2: FARAWAY TOWN, Evening

MAIN WALKTHROUGH

One more warning: SPOILERS AHEAD. If you want to experience the rest of OMORI spoiler-free, you should either skip this article altogether, or stop once you read the next set of bullet points. (And even they have some spoilers. Just can't avoid 'em.)

Once SUNNY has dreamed and woken up - and you've saved your game - you need to make a choice. What you decide to do will determine the outcome of OMORI. You have several options available to you, besides the opposite choice of going to BASIL'S room:

  • You can walk back to SUNNY'S HOUSE and climb into bed. You'll awaken as OMORI. Have OMORI STAB himself to wake SUNNY up. Head outside and climb in the car. (And don't save along the way.)
  • You can walk back to SUNNY'S HOUSE and go to the kitchen. There's a knife sitting on the counter. Grab it, then head up to SUNNY'S bedroom and go to sleep. You'll again awaken as OMORI in WHITE SPACE. Have OMORI STAB himself.
  • You can go right back to sleep in BASIL'S living room. You'll wake up later that night. Check the rear hallway of the house to find the rest of the party, then check BASIL'S room. Make sure you don't save after sleeping. After this you'll need to go back to SUNNY'S HOUSE. The rest of this ending proceeds more or less like the first, with some differences.
  • You can go to BASIL'S room and choose to save him.
This last option - saving BASIL - is the 'good' ending to OMORI, only available to players of the SUNNY ROUTE, and it's quite a bit longer than the other endings. We'll go through the hurdles you'll face, and attempt not to spoil too much...

Aaaaaaaand here we go!

BASIL

Yeah, things aren't going well. You can't run and your SKILLS will fail, forcing SUNNY to attack. Keep attacking and the battle will eventually end.

After the fight you'll be on the streets of FARAWAY. (Literally.) Keep head west and you'll eventually make it back to SUNNY'S HOUSE. Have a look around - inspecting the furniture is more interesting this time - then speak to the NPC in the piano room. Once you do a new door will appear on the opposite side of the stairs in the rear of the house. Check the box in the back of the room.

Leave the house once you've opened the box and collected the items inside. You'll wind up on a road with the occasional street light. Step into them to relive SUNNY'S memories. (And if / when you come across save points, make sure not to save over your main file.) Eventually you'll reach the end of the road... and after a lengthy, uplifting series of scenes...

OMORI

It's down to this. OMORI is not a difficult boss, fortunately, as SUNNY has gained a huge stat boost, as well as some new SKILLS, in preparation for the fight. Use ENCORE to prevent JUICE loss, then keep hitting OMORI with ALLEGRO. Use CHERISH if SUNNY'S HEART ever gets low, or FOCUS if you can't use CHERISH and are in a bind.

After four rounds OMORI will enter a fifth round where he only uses ERASE, making SUNNY consistently AFRAID and locking away his SKILLS. Once you get to this point you have no choice but to lose. When you lose you'll be given the option to retry:

  • If you say 'Yes' you'll get the happiest ending you're going to find in OMORI. (You'll also receive an extra scene if you watered BASIL'S flowers in HEADSPACE every day.)
  • If you say 'No'... uh... you'll see.

Once you regain control... well, the game will tell you where to go and what to do. Enjoy the flowers - the more people you helped, the more you'll receive - and watch as things play out. Depending on your choice you'll get an achievement. And that, folks, is OMORI. Game over.

... unless, of course, you want to try a different route through the game...
