Location: Weiyuan Security Guard Agency
Petitioner: Li Tai, the Director of WSGA
Reward: Turtle Spirit Saber, Master's Notes, 10,000 coins

The first step to triggering this side quest is to find the Weiyuan Security Guard Agency, as it's a little out of the way. You're most likely to find it on your first trip to the southeast, as you're headed to Gusu City from Wudang Sect. Once you've reached Gusu you can find the WSGA along the westbound road, past the Bamboo Forest.

The petitioner for this quest, Li Tai, is directly north of the entrance. Speak to him and he'll complain of bandits on the nearby Mount Tigeroar, who have been preying on the caravans sent out by the WSGA. He wants Yi to travel to Mount Tigeroar and defeat five of the bandits, just to send a message.

Leave the WSGA and travel north. You'll see Mount Tigeroar on your right - the tiger standing on top sorta gives it away - though the only entrance is to your right as you cross the nearby bridge. There are Mount Tigeroar Bandits all over the mountain, and you need to defeat only five of them to complete the quest. Note that this is five individual Bandits, which will equate to two battles. Both Bandits and Spies count. Piece of cake.

Head back to the WSGA and speak to Lai Ti to receive a reward - Quickstep Pills, Three-Time Refined Spirit Pills, Martial Arts Perceptions, Lanling Liquor, Jinchuang Ointment, and 5,000 coins - as well as a request: He wants you to deal with the leader of the bandits. You're headed back to Mount Tigeroar, from the sounds of it. Let's be a bit more thorough on this next expedition.

Mount Tigeroar consists of a mountain path and a cave, and your target is in the far west of the cave. The path through the mountain is quite straightforward, aside from the many enemies trying to get in your party's way. Here are a few things to note as you climb:
  • Mount Tigeroar has plenty of items to harvest if you look around, including Honghua, Danggui, Songrong Mushrooms, Zhennan Wood, Silver Ore, Coldiron Iron, and Cinnabar Ore.
  • Partway through Mount Tigeroar you'll hit two slopes leading upward. Just south of a mound of Cinnabar Ore between the slopes is a bush. Look behind it for a hidden chest containing Fine Hide, a Two-Time Refined Breath Pill, Tiger Bones, Tourmaline, and Corundum.
  • At the end of the path, just before you enter the cave, you'l find a chest. Check it out to receive Tiger Claws Boots, a Scuffed Coin, and Ironwood.
  • The boss you're after is on an upper level in the west of the cave. Next to him is a chest containing a White Tiger Token, the Beast Face Armor Advanced Blueprint, Top Quality Hide, Siderite Ore, and a Three-Time Refined Meridian Pill.
Speaking of the boss...

Wang Meng the Winged Tiger

That's a lot of enemies. This fight can prove a bit tricky, since you're automatically outgunned from the start - and Wang Meng himself is no weakling. He uses the following attacks:
  • Ranged hidden weapon attacks
  • An AOE ranged attack that can inflict Bleeding
  • Swift Switch, a line attack
He's your basic hidden weapons expert, in other words, and Wang Meng is quite good at hiding behind his cronies as they lunge forward to attack.

You'll be a bit hard-pressed to get to Wang Meng without taking out at least a few of the mooks, so hang back at the start, close ranks, and use AOE attacks to beat up the first line of enemies. This should open some holes in the enemy's lines and allow you to take potshots at Wang Meng. Get one or two characters on him while your other party members target the rest of the mooks. It shouldn't be too long before Wang Meng is on his own, at which point you can corner and slaughter him.

Take the news of Wang Meng's defeat back to Li Tai to receive your reward. As a bit of an aside, travel to Qinghe Village, to the north. If you approach the Village Head he'll discuss Wang Meng's origins, triggering - and completing - a quick side quest, earning you White Jade Tiger Token and Martial Arts Thoughts.
