To trigger this side quest you first need to find your way to Tancheng City. It's located to the south of Pingkang City and the general starting area of the game. Head south until you see a waterfall, then cross the nearest bridge and keep going south a ways until you see a settlement on your right. This is Tancheng City.
Jiang Ying, the petitioner for this side quest, is standing on your left as you walk north from the entrance of Tancheng City. Ying claims that this was a bad time to come to Tancheng City, as evil crow spirits have invaded and taken over the weird stage by the city's entrance. Ying has 'protective talismans' that will ward off the evil, and, of course, he offers to sell one to Yi.
Your options are:
- Buy the talisman. It costs a whopping 5,000 coins, and turns out to just be a Jadeite Guanyin. You can get these things as random drops later in the game, so unless you really want the accessory you shouldn't cough up the 5,000 coins.
- Don't buy the talisman. Ying chides Yi for wasting his time.
Quest over. Yep, that's it. (There are a lot of shysters in Wandering Sword.)
