Part Twenty-Seven: Mt. Pyre

Main Walkthrough Page

IMPORTANT NOTE! In its infinite and oddball wisdom, Nintendo has flipped the layout of the Hideouts. If you are playing Omega Ruby (my version), the instructions through the Hideout listed below will be accurate. If you're playing Alpha Sapphire, however, you must also reverse any instructions given. If I say to go right, for example, Alpha Sapphire players should go left. If I talk about a teleporter to the northwest, it'll be in the northeast in Alpha Sapphire. The area's straightforward enough even with the teleporters that this shouldn't be too difficult to manage. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Team Magma / Aqua Hideout

- Head to Slateport City and check out the Harbour in the northeast corner of town. You'll hit a cut scene, and when you rush into the Harbour you'll find some familiar villains waiting. Once they rush off you'll have to take down some familiar pokemon. Easy peasy.

- You'll jump to Lilycove City if you follow Captain Stern. Leave the Harbour and head east through town, to the beach. Hop into the water with Surf and look in the north for a cave. This is your destination.

- Head north through the Hideout until you reach a split in the hallways. On your right is a green pad. This is a teleporter, and it will send you flying to another area in the Hideout. (A Pokemon staple, this.) The pad on your right will take you to a small room with a Nugget; the pad down the left corridor will take you to an open room. There are two Grunts to defeat in here.

Eh. Kinda sets the tone for the whole hideout.

Blah blah blah...

- There are stairs in this room, as well as a teleport pad. The teleport pad will take you to a room with beds where you can rest. Check the adjacent kitchen to find a Full Restore, then return to the previous room and go down the stairs.

- Look beside the vending machine in the next hallway for an Escape Rope, then head east down the hallway. There's a Grunt to face.

Sigh.

- There's a wide, open room to the north from here, and to the east a teleport pad. Check out the lab first and step on the top-right teleport pad. This path eventually leads to a small room with TM97, Dark Pulse. Return to the lab and step on the top-left teleport pad, hidden behind a glowing server; it takes you to a small library where you'll find a Max Elixir.

- Step on the teleport pad in the previous hallway. It'll take you to another, similar-looking laboratory. Check the top-right corner for a Nest Ball, then use the bottom-right teleport pad. It'll take you to a PP Max. The bottom-left teleport pad has some plot oddments, but is otherwise useless.

- Leave the lab and head west through the southern hallway. There's a Grunt waiting. Step on the pad north of him to wind up near another Grunt, as well as two more teleport pads.

Ever annoying.

Ehhhh.

- Take the southern teleport pad. It'll lead you to a loooong room that's teeming with teleport pads. You need to step on the proper pads to reach the bottom. In this order, step on the left pad, the centre pad, the right pad, and the right pad. This will take you to an office, and in the corner you'll find four item balls. The bottom-right is a Nugget; the top-right and bottom-left are Electrodes you'll have to fight; the top-left is a Master Ball. Master Balls will always catch a wild pokemon, regardless of their level of health or catching difficulty, so it's wise to save this Ball for legendaries later in the game. (To leave again, step on the far left teleport pad, then keep going left at each new pad.)

- Take the left teleport pad in the previous hallway. This will shuttle you to the Hideout's harbour. Run west and you'll hit a Grunt; keep running west and you'll hit five Grunts. They're, uh, all pretty easy.

Oh man. Never seen this pokemon before. Sarcasm overload.

Yes, they outnumber you significantly. Shame they all suck.

- In the bottom-left corner of the harbour, beside a box, you'll find a Max Revive. Head north after grabbing it to face off against a familiar Admin. After you take 'em out, head north and east along the dock to find a teleport pad back to the entrance.

Reward: $3,900

She might be difficult if, you know, she ever used a different pokemon...

- The Admin's hints (why do they tell you every detail of their evil plans?) will point you across the seas, to the east of Lilycove City. There's a bit of water in the way, but we're going to skip describing the Route in-between and just go straight to the next area, Mossdeep City.
